KAPLANET propose to organize 4 days regional convening in Kasese district of Rwenzori region, western Uganda with a theme “Promoting Inclusive convening against modern slavery in the Rwenzori region” targeting 80 participants from nine (9) districts in the Rwenzori region (i.e. Kasese, Bunyangabu, Kabarole, Fort-portal municipality, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa and Kamwenge districts). The convening will aim at addressing the pressing issues of modern slavery (including Child labour, forced marriage, forced labour and human trafficking) by bringing together survivors and stakeholders with diverse experience and identities (through public-private partnership) working with various sectors including government agencies, civil society organizations, informal sectors, service providers and community leaders among others to share knowledge, ideas and practices towards anti-slavery movements in value chain; increase opportunities to apply principles and human rights frameworks to eradicate modern slavery; raise awareness; inform policy advocacy, implementation guidelines and practices; build solidarity, collaboration and networks among survivors and stakeholders towards forming a stronger, sustainable and more inclusive anti-slavery movements in Rwenzori region.
Overall goal: To increase survivors power, influence, partnership and promote inclusion of stakeholders from diverse sectors towards anti-slavery movement in the Rwenzori Region

To develop potential inclusive partnerships, collaborations and networking with diverse sector actors to eradicate modern slavery in Rwenzori region.
To create spotlight opportunities for survivors in diverse sectors to share their experiences and best practices in efforts to address modern slavery in Rwenzori region.
To raise awareness and drive implementation of existing policies and practices against modern slavery in Rwenzori region.
